I first met Carol in 2008 when we both worked on a job for the Met Police. She was the funniest person I have ever met and one of the sharpest. She had an uncanny ability to cut straight to the heart of a persons character and loved nothing more than deflating the pompous or overbearing charlatan. Although it had been a while since we’d seen each other she was often, and always will be, in my thoughts most especially when imagining her outrage at the latest heartless or coercive government policy or when finding a (usually very rude) meme that I know would have made her snort with laughter. I will miss her.
