Dedicated to the memory of Carol Bourke

This site is a tribute to Carol Bourke - our beautiful and much loved mum, mum-in-law, Nanny Noo, sister, sister-in-law, auntie and friend. She will always be loved, remembered and missed.

Please do add your memories, photos and tributes.

Flowers are invited from close family members only and should be sent to Arthur Towners funeral directors, Norman Road, St Leonards.

We have nominated two charities with causes close to mum’s heart should you wish to donate - see below.

Please dress however you feel most comfortable. Brightly coloured clothing is most welcome.

We will be holding an informal celebration of mum’s life in St Leonards after the crematorium service. Details will be provided to those in attendance at the crematorium. If you are only able to join us for the informal celebration, please contact Karen by text before 2 April (07753 760 552) for details.

With thanks to mum’s sisters Sandy and Mandy for all their help with the arrangements.

Thank you.

Nicky & Karen

Thoughts

I first met Carol in 2008 when we both worked on a job for the Met Police. She was the funniest person I have ever met and one of the sharpest. She had an uncanny ability to cut straight to the heart of a persons character and loved nothing more than deflating the pompous or overbearing charlatan. Although it had been a while since we’d seen each other she was often, and always will be, in my thoughts most especially when imagining her outrage at the latest heartless or coercive government policy or when finding a (usually very rude) meme that I know would have made her snort with laughter. I will miss her. We saw Billy Bragg - she liked to call him Sir Bill - together a few times over the years and this was always one of our favourite sing along songs https://youtu.be/kl9DxOmSo-I?si=fiq-V8VxfHPl5MxB

Dearest Carol, why is it that you don't realise how much people mean to you and very rarely say it until they are gone! Thankyou so much for your love, care, support and wise words over the years and always being at the end of the phone. We are so glad that you are now at peace. You were much loved and are now greatly missed. Jill & David xxx

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
